Havskarn, Exhibition 19.-21. September 2014

Textiles designed by Gitta Foldberg at City Hall, Fanoe. The exhibition HAVSKARN, SEA TRASH, is a hommage to our nature with the desire of all of us taking care of it.

Patterns, shapes and colours from HAVSKARN found along Fanoe Beach, combined with inspirations from the Fanoe nature, is transformed into a textile collection.

HAVSKARN is the term for the mix of natural and man-made waste that drfift ashore on our beaches. HAVSKARN has on Fanoe been applied in various contexts such as field dikes, straw and foundation for turf on the thatched roofs and is now the inspiration for a textile collection designed by textile designer Gitta Foldberg.

The silk textiles are designed and printed in Denmark and used for scarves in different models sewn in Fanoe.
